While finding this solution, I found "Ditto" a clipboard replacement/alternative...anyone tried this? Dear sysadmin...no more you need to do that. The root cause of my specific copy and paste issue was due to low Free Physical Memory. Well done everyone here. It was possibly maleware or some kind of virus. I don't use any cleaner/speed up software, have up to date AV and think I keep a pretty clean machine with few downloads and I don't trial programs. I've checked for viruses etc and it's very odd. You simply cannot intentionally (or unknowingly) break a system by applying aftermarked crapware then turn around and blame the OS for not operating properly. Internet speeds drop daily for 4... Not by clicking on the clipboard buttons, right clicking, Ctrl V. Sadly, the fix you mention will not work for me as I do not have the Skype plug-in you refer to installed anywhere on my laptop.
