Join our site today to ask your question. Then I rebooted the laptop and it started working fine. I did a search on "XP will not hibernate" and limited it to the Windows XP forum, but it picked up a lot of posts where the OS is Win 7 Using the site is easy and fun.

I will check my BIOS to make sure 'sleep mode' is enabled and will report back to this thread what I find. I am using Windows XP Home edition 2004 and have no other problems at all, everything else works perfect. So I use iTunes. None of these things helped me.

ERROR While I know that the RAM drive precludes hibernate, I am working now on at least going into standby to keep down power consumption.
