No luck? I once succesfully forced an old 1280x1024 CRT display to accept a modern 1080p signal, but the aspect ratio was fubar. The volume is always too loud. I can't offer any solid advice but I can describe my experience which may add some useful pointers and save you wasting time and money on goose chases.

an optical digital cable was available at best buy... If your TV supports all those info, you can enable each resolution in Xbox video settings.
